Manchester City are preparing an improved official transfer proposal to present to Nottingham Forest for England midfielder Elliot Anderson. The Premier League champions are highly confident of completing a deal for the 23-year-old playmaker after establishing groundwork on the transfer over the last three months.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester City intend to submit the secondary bid this week following the rejection of their opening proposal. Anderson is understood to be highly receptive to the move and is personally pushing to finalize terms with City. While cross-town rivals Manchester United remain closely attentive to the situation, City retain a significant advantage in the race to secure his signature.
Nottingham Forest remain in a strong negotiating position given that the midfielder is under contract at the City Ground until June 2029. Reports from Sky Sports News confirm that Forest value the player in the region of £100 million, viewing his structural importance similarly to Arsenal’s deployment of Declan Rice. However, City’s executive team is targeting a breakthrough closer to a £50 million to £70 million valuation base.
The player is currently away on international duty with England ahead of the upcoming World Cup. England head coach Thomas Tuchel has already indicated that squad members will be permitted to undergo medical examinations and sign contract paperwork privately from within the national camp to ensure clarity before the tournament begins.
