Barcelona can open a nine-point lead over Real Madrid if the unbeaten LaLiga leaders win El Clasico at Camp Nou on Sunday, while a Madrid victory would cut the gap to three.
Barcelona have won all nine of their league games and lead the table with 27 points, six clear of Real Madrid, who have lost two of their nine, LaLiga’s official standings show.
Kick-off at Camp Nou on Sunday, Oct. 25, is listed for 11 p.m. EAT. ESPN UK lists the start as 8 p.m. UK time, and Goal lists 23:00 on a page set to +03:00.
Where the table stands
The top three in LaLiga’s official table before Matchday 10:
| Position | Team | Played | W-D-L | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Barcelona | 9 | 9-0-0 | 27 |
| 2 | Atletico Madrid | 10 | 7-2-1 | 23 |
| 3 | Real Madrid | 9 | 7-0-2 | 21 |
Real Betis (19 points), Real Sociedad (16) and Sevilla (14) follow in fourth to sixth, according to the same table.
Barcelona’s goal difference is +30, on 39 goals for and nine against. Madrid’s is +14, on 23 for and nine against. Both teams have conceded the same number, so the difference comes from the 16 extra goals Barcelona have scored.
what each result does to the title race
The table below is our own arithmetic from the points above. It assumes a three-point win and a one-point draw, counts only this match and ignores every other result.
| Result on Sunday | Barcelona points | Real Madrid points | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barcelona win | 30 | 21 | 9 |
| Draw | 28 | 22 | 6 |
| Madrid win | 27 | 24 | 3 |
A Barcelona win would leave Madrid nine points back, the equivalent of three league wins. A draw would leave the six-point gap unchanged.
A Madrid win would end Barcelona’s perfect league record and put Madrid on 24 points, three behind.
Atletico Madrid are second on 23 points from 10 games, per LaLiga, four behind Barcelona. A Madrid win would lift Real above Atletico on points, while a draw would leave Real on 22, one short of Atletico.
El Clasico: how the last meeting ended
The teams last met on Sunday, May 10, at Camp Nou, where Barcelona won 2-0 and clinched the 2025-26 LaLiga title, ESPN reported.

“Real Madrid always come back.”
Alvaro Arbeloa, then Real Madrid’s coach, after the May defeat, ESPNThe gap this time is six points after nine games, down from 14 points with three games left in May.
Injury reports, unconfirmed
Goal reported that Olmo hurt his left thigh in Barcelona’s Champions League loss to PSG, and that early indications point to a tear in the muscle, which would rule him out of the match, but nothing is confirmed until an MRI.
Goal also reported that Koundé and Eric García picked up injuries against Real Betis, without giving the severity. This comes from a single outlet. No club medical report was checked, and squad lists have not been published.
